Whether you’re here to reconnect with your creative side and pick the cello back up
(…even if the last time you looked at it you were 12).
Or you’ve never played cello before but are tired of scrolling your social media feed at night and want a more *analog* hobby…
You’re here looking to connect with your creative side and live a life that’s deeper and richer through the practice and performance of the cello.
Welcome! We’re super stoked that you’re here.
Who are you?
You used to play but it’s been a while.
Remember the amazing feeling of producing sound with other people? Or working through a tough piece and hearing yourself improve as a player? There’s nothing like the change in energy you experience after sitting down at the cello and letting yourself make some sound for even 20 minutes. Have the cello become a regular part of your life again and reconnect to your creative side (even if it’s been 5 or 10 or 20 years– we’ve got you covered!)

You’re starting as a beginner.
Learn to play the cello. Even if you’re worried it’s too late. Even if you don’t read music. And even if you don’t have a cello yet. (IT IS POSSIBLE.) When you put your passion first, it fuels you to be more present and focused in other areas of your life. Your future self thanks you.

In Our Classes
You’ll be learning alllll about cello technique and music theory: bow hold, contact point, thumb placement, and stuff like the difference between bass clef and tenor clef. You’ll learn how to connect your breathing to your bowing, and how to sense the ground beneath your feet as you play. For adult students, playing goes a bit deeper than just technique, though (this is what most other music programs totally miss, by the way).
Creative self-expression and deep listening is at the center of your playing experience from Day 1. We recognize this and aim to help you foster these connections regardless of where you are in your cello playing career.
We believe that cello playing is for everyone! Know that as an adult student you will be welcomed into a community of people who share your passion for creativity and cello playing and where you are guided by badass faculty who are excited to guide you on your musical journey.
